PSAT is Wednesday, October 16th @ 9:55am!  Issaquah School District will administer the PSAT to all sophomores & juniors, as a part of the official school day (see schedule here) . Room assignments are posted in the Commons and in the 2100 hallway, so students should plan ahead and be in their assigned classroom ready to test by 9:55am sharp.

How does my student sign up for the PSAT? If your student still needs to register, there are two payment methods.  You can click “Pay Online” ( https://web.issaquah.wednet.edu/touchbase/login-form.aspx) on the IHS website, pay $14 for the PSAT and print your receipt, or bring a $14 check made out to Issaquah High School to the ASB Bookkeeper.  Bring the receipt to Counseling (2102) to pick up a study guide. The Issaquah Schools Foundation is providing scholarships for those students with financial need.  If you are in need of financial assistance for the PSAT, please let your counselor know.

What will my Freshman &/or Senior student do on Wednesday October 12th? All 9th graders will participate in a Freshman activity from 9:55 – 12:55.  All students will have lunch from 12:55-1:40pm, and should report to their 6th period class for 1:45 -2:46pm.  Seniors should spend their morning at home working on their Culminating Projects, college applications, homework assignments, or another school-related activity.  The Library will be available for seniors without transportation, and the Career Center will be open for assistance with college application questions.

Get the latest information on helping your child navigate the tricky waters of social media at "Keeping Up with Social Media: Your Child's Online World" (Wed, Oct 23, 7:00-8:00 pm, Pacific Cascade Middle School library). Come hear popular speaker Stefanie Thomas from the Seattle Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force talk about tools to help our children stay safe and communicate positively in the "constantly connected" world in which they live. Topics will include social networking, cyberbullying, children as victims, and safety tips. Hosted by Pacific Cascade Middle School PTSA.

Parents new to Issaquah High School, please join us for a “New to IHS Parent Night and Coffee Social” (Tues, Oct 22, 6:30-8:00 pm, IHS Library). Beginning at 6:30, counselors will briefly share answers to common inquiries from new families including questions on Family Access & checking grades, communicating with teachers, 4-yr planning & graduation requirements, course selection process, and Culminating Projects.  Afterwards, stay for a coffee social where you can meet other parents and get help with questions about the school or community. (This is not a time to discuss your child’s individual needs; save that for a one-on-one time with your student’s counselor.) We will also talk about how to stay connected with your student and the school. If there is a topic you would like to learn about or if you have questions about this event, contact Tabitha Mays or Maureen Walsh at  ihswelcome@gmail.com. We hope to see YOU there!
