Lisa Clark, Room 414
We are in full count down mode, especially with this wonderful weather that beckons!
Below, you will find information that I sent out last week, about our end of year activities. I also added a few new items (in bold print).
Overdue library books need to be turned in ASAP. If fines are not paid by June 13th, your child will not receive their yearbook.
If you would like your child to have the opportunity to go on the Inflatable Obstacle Course during our Shazam party please return the permission slip by June 13th.
Field Day is Friday, June 10th. Our time will be from 9:30-11:00. Please let me know if you can volunteer for this fun event, and I will pass your name on to our event coordinators.
Beginning, Monday, June 13th, we will have an all second grade Read-In from 1:30-2:55 in the afternoon. Students may also bring one small stuffed animal, one small pillow, and/or one small blanket, an e-reader or any book from home.
On Tuesday, June 14th all second grade classes will participate in signing yearbooks during “Autograph Day”. From 12:30-1:15. On that day second graders circulate to the different 2nd grade classrooms and get signatures in their yearbooks. If you didn’t purchase a yearbook, feel free to send your child to school with a notebook or journal for them to collect signatures in. I will have a few back-up booklets if anyone is without an autograph book. We have a serious discussion beforehand about what is appropriate, kind and respectful to put in others’ yearbooks!
That same afternoon, from 1:45ish-2:45ish we have Game Day in our classrooms. If your child would like to bring a board /card game that they would like to play with second grade friends, they are welcome to bring it in. Please be sure your child’s name is written on their game. No electronic or Pokémon games though. Your child will be considered the “in charge” person for their game-that means ultimately responsible.
Wednesday, June 15th will be our 2nd grade picnic at Klahanie Park (right next to Challenger) from 10:45-12:30. Parents and younger siblings are invited to join us for lunch and fun at the park. Please send a lunch from home for your child on that day! Your child may bring sporting equipment from home (soccer ball, Frisbee, nerf football or nerf baseball) to play with at the park. Please dress for the weather.
The last day of school is Thursday, June 16th. We begin the day with our traditional last day assembly (8:45-9:00) and move on the Shazam Party(9:00-10:00). School dismisses at 11 o’clock! Report cards will be available through Family Access that day as well.
Have a good week,
Challenger 2nd Grade Team
