*If you haven't signed up for conferences yet, please make sure to do so! I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child's successes so far this year:)
* Report cards will be available to view online on Wednesday, November 26th. Specific strengths and goals will be discussed at conference time.
Thank you for making the start of this year great!
* Here is a link to the kindergarten Standards. You may use it as a reference when you are viewing your child's report card:. Remember, these are the standards that your child should master by the end of the year.
* Check out a new content area for my connect site! Below, on the left hand side, you will see a new box sharing what we are learning for the week. If you are using IXL, there are specific targets you can do at home to match up with our math lessons. Please note that there will be some weeks where there will be repeated connections.
What we are learning this week Nov 24-26th:
It is a Thanksgiving Theme this week!:)
Phonics: Blending sounds to read simple words.
Reading: we will be reading a variety of fiction, non-fiction, and realistic fiction books to learn about the history (and fun) of Thanksgiving. Students will make text to self connections- relating to books we are reading. We will be making books and our very first diorama this week!
Writing: Students will choose whether to write about traditions they do with thier family, helping those in need, things we are thankful for, or another story of choice. Currently, I am allowing freedom of topic so students enjoy writing:)
Math: problem solving, patterns, and recognizing numbers in a variety of ways
IXL Application: C.2, H.1-H.3
Social Studies: Families and Thanksgiving
Please remember to have students wear tennis shoes girls wear shorts underneath skirts/dresses on P.E. days.
