In October 2016, Pine Lake Middle School 6th and 8th grade students will take the State's Healthy Youth Survey on Monday, October 17, 2016 — the eighth time Issaquah School District had been involved in the state-wide data collection effort.
The biennial Healthy Youth Survey is a joint effort between the state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Department of Health, Department of Social Health Service's Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, the Community Trade and Economic Development, and the Family Policy Council.
Many Washington school districts, like Issaquah, voluntarily administer the anonymous survey to sixth, eighth, 10th, and 12th-grade students in October. Questions focus on risky behaviors as well as safety and violence, physical activity and diet, and emotional wellbeing.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous.
Please read the Parent and Student Notification flyer for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey.
Pine Lake Middle School's Math Club is open to all students who have an interest in a mathematical challenge outside of the classroom. Members of the club participate in individual and team competitions, both at the school and around the region.
