Weekly Updates Blog: Weekly Thursday Outing

Hello ACT Families, Today was another busy fun filled day out in the community. We had groups go swimming, to a movie, bowling or pla and to Starbucks via Metro 200. Our students are fully engaged in the process of making choices for activities which gets them excited. The ACT students will continue to follow their monthly budget as each student dives into other opportunities for adventure during the coming weeks. We will be having more bowling and Starbuck groups as those seem to be the most popular, however we will be adding in some ice cream and frozen yogurt outings also.

    ACT Weekly e-news: Jan. 4 - 8, 2016: New....Bank Of ACT

Hello ACT Parents! We are starting a new routine at the beginning of February with your student’s spending money. We are opening the BANK OF ACT ! Starting the first week of February, we will be asking your student to complete deposit and withdrawal slips, make notes in a transaction register, wait in the bank line, and use our new mock bank system. You can help support our efforts by sending in your $40.00 cash during the first week of each month. This helps us streamline our system as we can all be anticipating these funds during this time period. This means for February we will accept deposits from Mon-Thur, 1/30/17 thru 2/2/17. Please see the ACT Bank documents on Connect for more details of our new process. Let us know if you have any questions. Carolyn & Dylan

Hello, As a highlight of our program, the ACT students are given the opportunity to learn daily living skills while actually out in the community. Over the past 2 Thursdays the ACT students have been exploring Redmond and Issaquah within small groups. Each smalll group explores a different area of a town, making purchases of snacks, lookiing at what each store has to offer and also gettin got know the surrounding environment within those buildings they want to enter. Each student has been able to demonstrate their skills on using money/dedit cards, handling wallets/purses, exchanging money and picking out items they enjoy to eat. This will continue throughout the school year. Great work students!!!
