In order to ensure the safety of our students, diminish end of the day classroom interruptions, and ensure our dismissal process runs smoothly, we are asking families to avoid requesting dismissal during the last 20 minutes of the day. Avoiding these unnecessary interruptions also allows us to support those families who do experience emergency situations that require the release of their child during this busy time. Outside of such emergency situations, we would request that normal release time and dismissal routine be followed. If your student attends Bear Club, please be sure to communicate the early dismissal directly to their staff.
If you need to check your student out of school early for an appointment, please plan enough time for us to call them out from class. If you need check them out during lunch or recess, it can take extra time to reach them in the lunchroom or playground. Please take note of our school schedule, and if it is possible to avoid checking them out during lunch or recess, that will make the process quicker
Welcome Back Breakfast
Thank you to all the parent volunteers for the delicious Welcome Back Breakfast! We greatly appreciate all of the yummy breakfast treats that you brought in for us last week. It was a wonderful way for us to start the year.
Thank you to all of the volunteers (Jennifer Bell, Faye Till, Laura Ni, Kiki Haar, Sagina Zerin-Sherry, Brandee Shillito, Pauline Reyes, Rupinder Kaur during the day and Regeana Rupard for organizing) that helped us with Picture Day this week, you really kept the classes flowing smoothly and even helped the photographers finish up early. We truly couldn't do this without you!
Thanks to thousands of donors and almost 400 volunteers, over 1,800 children received gifts for the holidays last year.
Holiday Gift Barn is one of the biggest and most exciting annual events put on by the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank.
Each year Holiday Gift Barn serves children in the Issaquah School District. We turn Pickering Barn into a huge department store where parents can choose gifts and stocking stuffers for each of their children. We also have a wrapping station and child care so the gifts can stay a surprise until Christmas morning.
To see the amazing transformation of Pickering Barn into the Holiday Gift Barn, check out this time lapse video!
Holiday Gift Barn shopping will take place December 4th and 5th this year! Watch our website as fall approaches for updates and more information for the 2019 Holiday Gift Barn event.
