Toy Drive

Apollo Student Council & Apollo PTA are teaming up to collect new toys and clothing items from Monday, November 18 – Monday, December 2 for the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank’s “Holiday Gift Barn.” Donation boxes will be outside the office. The “Holiday Gift Barn” serves over 1,800 students in the Issaquah School District each year. Apollo collected over 400 toys last year! The grade that donates the most will earn a popsicle party!

Apollo’s Clothing Lending Closet Needs to be Re-Stocked!

Hello Apollo Families,

If you have any gently-used clothing (especially underwear/sweatpants/leggings) that your child has outgrown, we would love to adopt them for our Clothing Lending Closet. Students occasionally have “accidents” and need a clean change of clothing. Our closet is nearly empty, especially in the smaller sizes (4T – 6), and school started only two months ago!

You may drop off your donations to the front office; the Lending Closet is located in our Health Room.

Please be reminded that if your child comes home wearing clothing from the Lending Closet, return the items to us after they have been laundered so that another student in need of a clothing change can use them!

Thank you!

Holiday Book Drive

The 2019 Holiday season is almost here and starting on Friday, November 1st, the downtown Bellevue Barnes & Noble will start their Holiday Book Drive for a local school or library. This year Apollo Elementary School has been chosen as the recipient!

What is a Holiday Book Drive? It is awesome! Our school will be the recipient of books (lots of books!) or items purchased by customers in the store during the holiday season. The book drive runs for two whole months, until January 1st. Please stop by the downtown Bellevue Barnes & Noble this holiday season to check it out!

Mark you calendar for the Reflections Celebration and Family Art Night on Friday, November 15th from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Apollo Library. Stop by to see all the Apollo artists that submitted work for this years Reflections Art Program. Please plan to have an adult accompany your child to this event.

Apollo PTA 5th Grade Camp Fundraising team is excited to be teaming up with Carpinito Brothers in Kent again to sell 25’ fresh cedar garlands for $30.00 and 24” deluxe decorated fresh noble wreaths for $25.00. If you have ordered these in the past, you know they are beautiful and last well into the New Year. Profits from all orders go towards Apollo PTA fundraising. When thinking of your holiday decorating this season, please consider ordering your greenery from your fellow 5th grade parents.

On-line ordering is available on the Apollo PTA website: apollopta.org. Greenery will be delivered on December 6th.

Questions about wreath/garland fundraising? Please email camp@apollopta.org.

Have you ever wondered what the red trailer on the playground is? It's Apollo's Reading Rocket! It's a quiet place for students to read during recess. In order for the Reading Rocket to be open and available for students, parent volunteers are needed to open the rocket and stay there for about 1.5 hours.
