Learning Everywhere for Everyone!

Dear Cascade Ridge Families,

Happy August! This may have been the shortest summer ever, but I hope it was a great one for your family. It was a milestone for my family as earlier this month both of my children went off to college! I will have a freshman and a senior at the University of Idaho. Embrace and enjoy these elementary school days, they go quickly!

We are hard at work here at Cascade Ridge getting everything ready to go for our students! We are all very excited for the 19-20 school year. If you were with us last year, you may recall that our focus was “Learning is Everywhere”. We wrapped this around a Harry Potter theme that was fun for all! This year we are adding to that focus: “Learning is Everywhere for Everyone.” We truly want all students to feel welcome, to feel encouraged, to learn and progress in all areas. We want that learning to happen in the classroom, on the playground, in the gym – everywhere. We want the growth to focus on all academic subjects and areas as well as social emotional learning – the whole child. We are excited to share our theme of Cascade Ridge All Inclusive Resort with you!

In addition to this focus, we want to continue to embrace the Coyote Way: Be Kind, Be Safe and Do Your Job. When students feel safe and are surrounded by kindness they can focus on their job of being a successful student. Go Coyotes!

We have had some changes over the summer and we are in process of completing our hiring and solidifying our staffing. We hope to be able to send a list of all staff in next week’s eNews. Families with students in Grades 1-5 will be able to log into Family Access after 5pm on Friday, August 30 to find out the name of their classroom teacher. Kindergarten families – watch for an email next week with the name of your teacher and a link to sign up for your Family Connection Meeting.

New families – come on over at 10am on Friday, August 23 for a short presentation followed by a tour of the school. For everyone else, we are so excited to see you at Meet The Teacher from 9:30-10:30 on Tuesday, September 3.

Why should I join the Cascade Ridge PTSA?

The number one reason to join the PTSA is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school, but there are many more advantages. Here are just a few:

Tap into a Network – Parenting is not easy! It helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators. PTSA functions are opportunities to meet teachers and other parents, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.

Speak Up – The PTSA is a forum for exchanging ideas and can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

Discover Great Resources – The PTSA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students. By joining you can receive discounts to places like Great Wolf Lodge.

Get Connected – There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school!

You will support local programs and advocacy efforts that will positively impact the quality of your child’s education for the rest of their lives.

Thank you!
