 announcement

The Clark Site Council is currently accepting applications.

Site Council Statement of Purpose

The members of the Clark Site Council  (CLKSC) will:

  • Maintain a positive and fun working environment
  • Provide a forum for improved collaboration on school-wide education decisions
  • Create a trusting environment that listens, communicates and responds to constituents needs
  • Enhance the learning environment of students and the work environment of staff
  • Address the concerns of the learning community
  • Actively support Clark's Mission Statement
  • Keep student’s needs first and foremost
  • Effectively communicate with our community and each other
  • Encourage each other to explore and learn from various perspectives

Site councils are established by the District as a means to add value to the leadership and management of schools.  They are intended to increase understanding, trust, and support throughout the school system, especially by generating ideas, improving communications and removing barriers to understanding among stakeholders.  Past agenda items at Clark have included:  School Improvement Plan and evaluation data, Clark remodel, and various other issues.

Site Council meets about 4 times a year – typically the 3rd Friday of the month from 8:00-9:00AM.  Site Council positions require a two year commitment.

If you are interested in serving on Clark’s Site Council, please complete the short Self-Nomination form on the Clark website and return it to the office.   All self-nominations are due by the end of the day on Monday, May 27th .  If you have any questions regarding Site Council, please feel free to contact Christy Otley at otleyc@issaquah.wednet.edu

Open Enrollment at Clark!

Now is the time to enroll “NEW to Clark” students. Families must live in the Clark attendance area to enroll for the upcoming 2019-20 school year.

Visit the Issaquah School District website to begin the process.

The following documents are required for enrollment:

  • child’s proof of birth date (birth certificate or passport)
  • Parent photo identification
  • child’s immunization records
  • Residency verification (a copy of your purchase papers or lease agreement and a utility bill no more than 30 days old)

Early enrollment is very important as we plan staffing and allocate resources for the new school year.

Are you moving?

If your student(s) will not be attending Clark next year, please let the office know as soon as possible.  Also, please be sure to update the office if you have moved or changed your contact information so we have the correct information on file.

New Teacher Website Tool Survey

A leadership advisory team has formed to explore a replacement for Connect as the teacher website tool. As part of our selection process we would like to hear from parents about what they would like in a classroom web tool.

Our goals include finding a tool that:

  • Meets communication needs for teacher to student and families
  • Provides a consistent look and feel throughout the district
  • Integrates with other online tools such as Office365, Classlink, Skyward and online textbooks
  • Is accessible to persons with disabilities
  • Includes translation tools for a variety of languages

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking this link:  https://forms.gle/p2uzAikAsJHdZ55P7

Exceptional Placement Math Test for Incoming 6th grade students.

Exceptional Placement provides an additional acceleration option for students who are ready to skip CC 7/8 and begin middle school in CC 8/Algebra 1. Interested students must demonstrate sufficient mastery of CC 7/8 concepts and skills on a district-administered assessment. The exceptional placement assessment will be offered to interested students on Wednesday, June 19 from 2:00-4:00 OR Wednesday, June 26 from 4:00-6:00 at the Issaquah Middle School Library. *Since CC6 math is taught in the 5th grade MERLIN program, 5th grade MERLIN students will take the CC 7/8 Math Mastery Assessment test in their classrooms each spring.

To register to take the Exceptional Placement assessment please complete the sign up at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScMtYzRkyNU2rTip-OQT4xEdrGsdTgwYledJk2_p3322xSa0Q/viewform?usp=sf_link by June 7. Once a student has qualified for Exceptional Placement, parents make the final determination of whether or not to accept that placement. Further information will be provided to families of students who qualify for Exceptional Placement to help inform this decision. More information can be found at http://www.issaquah.wednet.edu/academics/core/math/middle/mathEP or you may contact Susan Ford at fords@issaquah.wednet.edu or 425-377-7051.
