Creekside Kindergarten News

Kindergarten Information Night TODAY, February 4th, 5:30-6:30
Do you have a child that will be 5 on or before August 31, 2020 and you live within the Creekside attendance area? If so, we invite you to join us for a parent only Kindergarten Information Night on Tuesday, February 4th from 5:30 - 6:30PM in the Creekside Multi-Purpose Room.

The window to register your child for kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year begins February 3.

  • If you cannot make it to our Kindergarten Information Night, please stop by the Creekside office at to pick up a folder containing forms that need to be completed and submitted to the office after you have completed the online enrollment.
  • Please visit the ISD New Student Enrollment website to begin enrollment February 3. We ask that you complete this by March 6 for staff planning. The link for registration will be live during this window.
  • Once you have completed your online enrollment, please stop by the office to turn in your completed paperwork and to book a 15 minute Pre-K screener appointment.
  • The presentation from our Kindergarten Night will be available on our website in the next few days.

Creekside Around the World - This Thursday!

The PTSA’s Creekside Around the World event will be held this Thursday, February 6 at 5:30pm. We are looking for volunteers to help with the event. Please sign up on the link below if you can help. We look forward to seeing you there!

Yearbook Cover Contest Winner Announced

Congratulations to Devin M. in Mrs. Bulmer's 3rd Grade class for winning the yearbook cover contest! Your original artwork will appear on the cover of this year's yearbook. Fourteen other finalists and honorable mentions will appear on the back cover as well. Congratulations to all!

Family Movie Night - Thank yous!

We hope you enjoyed the Creekside Family Movie Night showing Abominable! A big thank you to our wonderful volunteers who helped make the evening a success! Also, a special thank you to the popcorn helpers that came in during the afternoon on January 24th to make extra popcorn for our movie night. Also, a big thank you to Dave Holbrook for your time and supporting the prep and cleanup for the night. Matching Donations Reminder

If you have made a contribution to Creekside PTSA for our Hawk-a-thon or a miscellaneous donation and have noted it as matching, please remember to follow up with your employer to ensure the matching process is completed. We are still waiting for some of the entries that were matched during our Hawk-a-thon fundraiser and these funds are helpful in achieving our operating budget and in allocating any additional funds to our school and programs. Another great way to support your school and PTSA is through event sponsorship opportunities! Creekside Summer Celebration – Save the Date!

It is only February but we are already planning the Creekside Summer Celebration! Save the date for Friday June 5th! Our wonderful volunteers are already working on games and activities and lining up delicious food options, entertainment and more. If you want to volunteer to help that evening, if you have a middle school to high school age volunteer or just want to help out, please contact Jennifer Nakamura or Hailey Chamberlain

We are also looking for balloon artists who are able to make animals, hats, etc. If you, a family member or friend, is interested in volunteering for this activity, please contact Jennifer Nakamura.

Bank Day

A penny saved is a penny earned!! The next Bank Day will be on Friday, February 7th. Our Bank Day chair, Nova, will be available on the 2nd floor library overlook anytime from 9:00am-10:00am for kids to make a deposit.

Get your children in the habit of saving money by participating in Creekside’s Bank Day. We have paired up with Washington Federal to create a Save at School program. As an incentive, the bank will give your kids $5.00 once their account is setup. For those of you with accounts already, please send your kiddos in with their deposits (limited to a max of $20 cash, no limit on checks) for a trip to the prize box! Box Tops Collection Contest

The Box Tops Collection Contest is coming up soon from February 9-27. The classroom with the most Box Tops credits will get a prize. On Friday, February 9, your child will receive a collection sheet where she/he can attach any unexpired Box Tops labels.

In the meantime, please keep an eye out for unexpired Box Tops that you might have around the house and/or download the Box Tops app (if you have not done so yet and you prefer your collection to be digitally).

Family Science and Engineering Night

Family Science and Engineering Night will be held on Thursday, March 26, from 5:30 - 7:30pm in the MPR.

Volunteers are needed! No science expertise is required for any of the positions. Sign up on the link if you can help.

Thank you for your support in helping to keep our lost and found in great shape. Please continue to label all jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles and lunchboxes with your child’s first and last name. Next charity donation will be Friday, February 7.

Issaquah School District Dyslexia Family Engagement Forum

Families interested in connecting with the Issaquah School District regarding support for students with dyslexia are invited to a community forum hosted at the Administration Building at 5150 220th AVE SE, Issaquah on Thursday, February 6 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The purpose of the forum is to facilitate two-way communication, collaboration, and shared learning related to supporting students with dyslexia. Two additional forums will be held on March 5 and May 21. Families are welcome to attend one, two, or all three meetings. The February 6 session will include active listening opportunities and time for families to share their stories, interests, and learnings with ISD staff. For more info, click here.

Parent Wiser Event – Monday, Feb. 10

Even the most in-tune parents could use some extra tips for keeping up with the fast-changing media landscape and how their kids engage with it. Parent Wiser hosts local technology fixation expert, Jocelyn Skillman, with research and tips from Common Sense Media for Plugged-In Parents: Keeping Kids Safe, Happy & Healthy in the Digital Age, Feb 10th at 7-8:30pm at Issaquah High School. Parents will learn how to balance media use as a family, find quality content, set expectations for healthy use, and raise kids to be media savvy and safe. For all parents and caregivers of K-8. La Casita is the February Dining for Kids partner. Join us Wednesday, February 5th and La Casita will donate a portion of your bill to Issaquah Schools Foundation. These funds go to programs and resources for Issaquah School District students, including food & snack support during the school day. More info:

Impact Scholarship Applications due February 21, 2020

The Issaquah Schools Foundation offers scholarships to help juniors and seniors in the Issaquah School District continue their educational journeys. The Impact Scholarship will be awarded to students who submit essays that describe how Issaquah Schools Foundation-funded programs have enriched their education.
