We are looking for a chair who would be interested in planning our year end party for students and their families scheduled for June 5, 2020.
Club Chair Open Positions
Chess Club Chair
Chess Club provides the opportunity for students to play chess with other students. Chess Club meets once a week after school.
Geography Club Chair Geography is a fundamental discipline at all levels of education. Elementary students are naturally curious about the world around them. Our Geography Club seeks to build on this natural curiosity and excitement for learning new things. One or two parent volunteers are needed to run this club.
Math Club Chair Current 4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to form teams for the Creekside Math Club. The Creekside Math Club will help prepare kids for the “Online Math Olympiad” and at least one off-site competition.
If you enjoy working with students and have time during the school day to come in and help, we would be excited to have you join us as a library volunteer this school year! You will sign up for an hour long, weekly time slot and come every week for the entire 2019-2020 school year. If you are interested in signing up to volunteer in the library and/or would like to know more information, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Nova Featherstone, at email@example.com. The students always enjoy having parent volunteers during their library time each week!

We have an exciting event just around the corner! We are getting ready for Creekside’s ONLY fundraising event of the year, the 3rd Annual Hawk-a-thon! We are busy planning and can’t wait for the kickoff on Friday, October 4th. We can do this Creekside and meet our school goal of $100,000 that will go 100% to our kids, school programs and activities! No paper envelopes this year. We are asking parents, friends and family to contribute online and go green (checks can be turned in if needed to your teacher or PTSA basket). Stay tuned for more details! Hawk-a-thon will be October 4th-11th with special guests, prizes and activities for all of our Otters.
Are you a business owner and looking for a way to show some Otter support? We have sponsorship options for you to get involved. Also, if you would like to volunteer and help with the Hawk-a-thon or have any questions, please contact Hailey Chamberlain at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jennifer Nakamura at email@example.com.
Reflections is a National PTA/PTSA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning. The primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity through positive recognition.
Creekside students are invited to create original works of art in response to this year’s theme, Look Within. Entries from all grades and all abilities are welcome!
Students may submit their completed works in the following 6 categories: Visual Art, Photography, Dance Choreography, Film Production, Music Compositions and Literature. Whether you like to write poems, compose your own songs, make up dance routines, take cool photos, draw and paint or make your own short films, there is something for all students!
Entry forms and category information sheets will be available starting this Thursday, September 12th on the Reflections board, located outside the office. Entries are to be submitted by Friday, October 25th to the entry box.
Have questions, need some guidance or want to volunteer? Contact Laura Hassel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have some new additions to our playground activities thanks to our PTSA and all of YOUR contributions. This year, you will see some new picnic tables arrive at our playground for students to sit and hang out together. Recess staff will have some game wagons filled with classic and favorite board and card games that students can play together. You may have already noticed our new chess board painted by the basketball court. Thank you to a local Eagle Scout Troop for painting this for Creekside. We also have a rolling cart with 24" chess pieces that students can play during recess and some new Fun Hoop Basketball Buckets arriving soon! These will be added to two stations on our playground for younger students to reach and for older kids to play as well! For questions, please contact Hailey Chamberlain at email@example.com.
Did you meet our new Creekside mascot? We had a new furry friend welcoming students and families at the Meet the Teacher Day! Ollie the Otter has arrived and found a home here at Creekside. Thank you for welcoming him and we hope you enjoy seeing Ollie around school and at events. If you have questions or want to "help" with Ollie for an event, please contact Hailey Chamberlain at firstname.lastname@example.org.
