Congratulations again to our Top 15 Teachers in classrooms! Some of the classes have already used their exciting prize choice and the others are looking forward to scheduling their prize throughout the year. We hope that your students are still talking about the Seahawk fun and prizes that took place throughout our event! This year, we were able to increase our prize drawings by giving away prizes to more than half of our school through a random daily drawing and giving away an all-school prize and treat on the final day to celebrate for everyone to enjoy.
We have lowered our costs over the last 4 years from almost $30,000 to put on a fundraiser to under $3000 and lowering to ensure that your financial donations are going back to our kids and school 100%. If you have ideas that you would like to see happen during our school fundraiser or ways that you would like to increase the fun and excitement, we encourage you to volunteer! The best way to see your ideas in action are to volunteer and be a part of the fundraising process. Any questions you can reach out to Hailey or Jen any time! We plan to keep you posted over the next month as we get a final number after all matching is turned in and then look at ideas to put into action for our school. The Creekside PTSA will be hosting a spelling bee! The purpose of our spelling bee is to help students improve spelling, increase vocabulary and learn public speaking skills in a supportive environment. This is an optional event for students in grades 2nd - 5th. We are also seeking volunteers to help administer the bee. Study lists will be provided in advance.
Our spelling bee will be held on the following dates:

A penny saved is a penny earned! The first Bank Day will be on Friday, December 6th at the 2nd floor library overlook any time from 9:00am-10:00am for kids to make a deposit.
Get your children in the habit of saving money by participating in Creekside’s Bank Day. We have paired up with Washington Federal to create a Save at School program. As an incentive, the bank will give your kids $5.00 once their account is setup. For those of you with accounts already, please send your kiddos in with their deposits (limited to a max of $20 cash, no limit on checks) for a trip to the prize box! From November 18th - 22nd, our school, through the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank, will be collecting toys/gifts to help local families in need. There will be a collection box by the school’s main office where donations can be dropped off. All gifts should be new and unwrapped. Gifts/toys for children 0-18 years old are suggested and boys/girls 9-18 years old can always use extra attention.

Also, we are inviting all Creekside students to submit a drawing in our first (hopefully annual) Yearbook Cover Design Contest!!!! The winning selection will be displayed on the front cover of our 2019-20 Yearbook. Finalists will be displayed in a collage on the back cover. Entries are due by December 6.
Please note: Hand done drawings on tablets are allowed, provided no clip art or other computer images are used. Entries must be printed on 8.5x11 paper as described in the rules.

Popcorn Friday Volunteer Opportunities
THANK YOU to all Creekside artists who submitted entries for the themed “Look Within” Reflections competition! The entries are on display this week as we welcome our judges and local art professionals. All students who entered Reflections are invited to our Reflections Reception Night on November 14th, where our 12 Creekside finalists will be announced. Questions? The clothing racks at school are already filling up and cluttering our hallway after the recent charity donation. To make things easier for our volunteers, please LABEL the inside tag of sweatshirts, t-shirts and jackets with the students last name. Please LABEL all water bottles and lunchboxes with a sharpie on the outside with the students last name. Please note that due to bacteria and mold reasons, these items are thrown away before charity donations.
Students will be notified via email (to their teacher) that they have an item in the lost and found and the students will be required to pick up those items on their own. No more classroom deliveries! Next charity donation will be Friday, December 6, following Parent-Teacher Conference. From then on, charity donations will be done on a monthly basis, last Friday of the month.
Dining for Kids
Join us on December 4th at Ohana in Issaquah. Our Dining for Kids restaurant partners generously guarantee a portion of the day’s proceeds as a donation to the Issaquah Schools Foundation that provides multiple forms of support to Issaquah School District students, including food aid.
Shop for a Cause
Join the Issaquah Schools Foundation at the Golf Club at Newcastle on Thursday, November 14th and get a jump on your holiday shopping! $3 from each glassybaby and 20% of all Kendra Scott jewelry sales will be donated back to fund programs and resources for Issaquah School District students. Enjoy an evening on the Terrace (indoor) of the Calcutta Grill with friends, neighbors, and colleagues, and rally together to shop for a cause!
