Hawk-a-Thon Update

We are just over $114,000 and as the numbers are finalizing from our Hawk-a-thon, we continue to send a big THANK YOU to our Creekside Families! We surpassed our school goal this year! About 25% of our funds raised come from matching this year and without that we would not have met our goal, so thank you. Please remember if you made a donation with matching to complete that matching process with your employer. It usually takes a few months for the matching process to complete and then we will have a final net number for our Hawk-a-thon! Thank you for helping us to reach our operating goal and to have extra that will be able to go towards ways of improving the school and an increase of grants and curriculum support!

Our Top 15 Teachers have been planning their special class prizes out for their classes! We also had our two winning Seahawks ticket winners attend the game on the 20th, the Tarp Family and Jones Family! Thank you again to Garrick and Lisa Lo!

Have you asked yourself what Creekside PTSA can do with the funds raised, or thought about how you want some of the funds to be spent? Don't forget that parents can apply for our PTSA grants too if you have ideas that you want to see happen. Please go online to our PTSA website under 'forms' to print and complete the grant applications. We would love to see Creekside parents apply and hear your ideas for our school!

In previous years, PTSA has used your funds to help improve the playground at our school (added picnic tables, board game collections for table play, gaga pit, spinner toy, new basketball dunkers, life size chess board, new equipment, sand toy box and collection and more), created a staff book room providing collections of curriculum focused books to help improve each grade level of teaching, increased amount of grants given, helped pay towards 5th grade camp, covered costs of grade level curriculum, brought the Lion King production and event to Creekside, and all of the other grade level programs! This year, the Kindness Club is new to Creekside and the PTSA is a supporter of this helping to cover costs and partner with our awesome Creekside staff. These are just a few of the ways we are using the funds raised year to year and it helps to continue to grow our school! Thank you!

A special shout out again to some of our volunteers:

Jennifer Nakamura, Marissa Corona, Karen Rajtar, Krista Wood, Aimee Cermak, Eleanor Robinson, Colleen Mahoney, Taimay Jones, Jared Wood, Ben Chamberlain, Katie Heady, Stefanie Hill, Laurie Friedl, Staci Gould, Laura Hassal, Nova Featherstone, Kari Feistner, Wendy Caamano, Rachel Singh, Nirupama Surampudi, Becky Brooks, Kerstin Aarestad, Luci De Abdrade, Kim Magill, Jalel Powell, Janis Kotowski, Melisa Heitzman, Jennifer Kim, Bita Khatibi, Jennifer Grusz, Miranda Ellis, James Minkley, Jackie Malsam

Thank you again to our first event sponsors at Creekside! Roy Towse, Hunnex and Shoemaker, POMS Cheer, and Nurture Kids Dentistry

Thank you, families, for making Creekside a wonderful place to be. You rock!

Cheers to an awesome Hawk-a-thon! -Hailey Chamberlain and Jennifer Nakamura
