PTSA Open Positions 2019/2020
We need more parent volunteers to help fill open positions for next year!
If you are interested in any of these programs and want to see them return next year please contact Ghada Hamdi at email@example.com for more information.
Our incoming VP Volunteers (Colleen Mahon) is looking for a co-VP for next year. This position recruits and provides support for chairs to help them run their events or programs smoothly. Great role for someone who enjoys working with people and
a strong communicator.
Staff Appreciation/ Room Parent Coordinator
Every month the PTSA recognizes teachers and staff with fun activities and treats. The chair would be responsible for organizing events throughout the year. Chair will also oversee room parent coordinators selected by teachers to distribute important
PTSA news to parents.
Sponsorship Chair – NEW!
Looking for a volunteer who can reach out to local businesses to raise money during our main fundraiser of the year.
CLUB CHAIR VOLUNTEERS ALSO NEEDED!
Geography Club Chair
Geography is a fundamental discipline at all levels of education. Elementary students are naturally curious about the world around them. Our Geography Club seeks to build on this natural curiosity and excitement for learning new things. One or two
parent volunteers are needed to run this club.
Math Club Chair
Current 4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to form teams for the Creekside Math Club. The Creekside Math Club will help prepare kids for the “Online Math Olympiad” and and at least one off site competition.
The Lion King
Director’s Note- Lindsay Quinn
I first fell in love with Disney’s “The Lion King” as a feature length animated movie that hit theaters when I was the age of our cast members. When “The Lion King” opened on Broadway in 1997, it captivated audiences with it’s use of puppetry, magical sets,
and the timeless music of Elton John. Under the direction of Julie Taymor, audiences were treated to a show unlike anything they had ever encountered.
I have been involved in the theater since I was 8 years old, both in acting and production. I deeply wanted to connect with the students at Creekside through the process of our first ever, full scale musical. Once I started to dream about what the production
could be- I thought of “The Lion King” immediately.
This is a very special production. The puppets, sets, costumes and props are 95% created from recycled materials in our continued commitment to being a Level 4 Green School. The students and families across all grade levels have been working since January to
create a production that nods to Julie Taymor’s original vison, but also is completely our own. This production is bigger than the show itself. I have been humbled by the energy, commitment and hard work of every person involved in this beautiful story.
With my deepest thanks to Creekside’s PTSA for their generosity in supporting every aspect of this production since the beginning. Understand that what you are seeing on stage is so very much more than the story of a lion and his journey to becoming who he
was meant to be. This is the story of a school community, taking a journey to display the beauty of life, learning and celebration of our own village.
Come watch the show and be enthralled and delighted by this beautiful production that has swept up the community of Creekside!

News from Pine Lake Middle School
The Pine Lake Middle School PTSA needs volunteers for next school year (2019-2020). Positions are available for all levels of involvement. If you want to be involved but have limited time, we have positions that need an hour or two a month.
If you are available, but only at a particular time of the year, we need help with several once-a-year events. If you want to help, but don’t want to carry a position on your own, find a friend to co-chair with you. If you want more involvement and the ability
to vote on district and state level issues, as well as how PTSA funds should be used locally for our school, several board positions are available. If you are interested in being involved at the middle school, in any capacity, and want additional information,
please contact Carrie Tran (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Kathie Arnesen (email@example.com) for more information on what position would best fit your time constraints
and interests. Thank you!
