With snow in the forecast...

Preparing for Winter Weather

With snowflakes in the 10-day forecast, please make sure your family and child care givers are signed up for snow day closure and delay texts or emails from our Transportation Department through FlashAlert. (Only families with verified mobile numbers in Family Access will receive texts from the District.) The District and school websites will post information by 6:30 a.m. Please take a moment to locate your Emergency Transportation Bulletin (ETB) that was mailed out in October or access the ETB online. Also take a moment to use SNOW E-Link to find your emergency snow route and make sure you check the chart below to become familiar with program changes due to delays and closures. For more information, including how programs such as field trips and athletics are affected during school closures, please click here

2ND Grade Highly capable testing

Highly capable testing for second grade students will occur at all elementary schools January 14 through January 17 and continue March 10 through March 13. Students who are identified as “most highly capable” will be invited to enter either SAGE or MERLIN in the 2020-21 school year. Second grade students attending private or home-based schools are invited to participate. Contact your neighborhood school for more information about how to participate. More information about the Issaquah School District Highly Capable Program and testing for second grade students is available on the Highly Capable Issaquah School District webpage

Bank Day

A penny saved is a penny earned! The next Bank Day will be on Friday, January 10th. Our Bank Day Chair, Nova Featherstone, will be available on the 2nd floor library overlook anytime from 9:00am-10:00am for kids to make a deposit.

Get your children in the habit of saving money by participating in Creekside’s Bank Day. We have paired up with Washington Federal to create a Save at School program. As an incentive, the bank will give your kids $5.00 once their account is setup. For those of you with accounts already, please send your kiddos in with their deposits (limited to a max of $20 cash, no limit on checks) for a trip to the prize box! For more information or to get your child signed up to participate visit and get your child saving!

Keep your photos coming! Send in photos from fall activities (Hawk-A-Thon, Halloween Bash) and upcoming concerts and parties so we have plenty of candids of all of the kids for this year’s yearbook! Submit photos at

While you’re there, don’t forget to order your yearbook! This year’s yearbook will feature student artwork for the cover, plus at least 88 pages of full color photos of our Creekside kiddos. Yearbooks are distributed in class in June so kids have the opportunity to sign each other’s yearbooks before the summer. Order your yearbook at, or follow the link on the Creekside PTSA website under Items to Purchase.

Lost and Found

Thank you for your continued support in labeling all of your children’s winter clothing and lunchboxes. Please continue to have your children check the lost and found if they have forgotten anything at lunch or recess time. Next charity donation date is Friday, January 31st.

The 2020 EP&O Renewal Levy Continues Support For:

Career & Technical Education • Mental Health Counselors in our schools • Special Education • Early Childhood Learning • Safety and Security • Highly Capable Programs • Dual Language • After School Activities and Athletics

This is NOT a new tax. The proposed 2-year levy replaces the expiring 2018 levy at a lower overall tax rate. With voter approval of this renewal levy, we can ensure these programs continue benefitting our students for another 2 years. Please click on the links below for more information and why you should VOTE YES for our schools on February 11th!
