Lock down drill practiced today

Hello Creekside Families ~

We held our first lock down drill of the year today. It was a GREAT success. Our staff and students knocked it out of the park. We were in our lock down drill for six minutes for support staff to check the grounds to ensure all students, staff and parent volunteers were safe and protocols were followed.

If you are a parent volunteer during a drill or a real emergency, we ask that you follow the teachers’ instructions and the emergency procedures for such a drill or emergency.

We are conducting SAFETY WEEK this week (see message from last week, below), spending time practicing each of our drills school-wide to ensure kiddos know what to do. Please feel free to discuss this drill as well as other drills that we practice with your kiddos.

We will continue our monthly drills throughout the school year.

Thanks for all you do to help us keep everyone safe throughout the school year.

Creekside Safety Week – Oct 15 – 19, 2019

The Issaquah School District requires that we review emergency and safety procedures at the beginning of the school year as well as conduct monthly drills throughout the school year. We will review emergency procedures with all our students next week, practicing Shelter in Place, Lock Down, Fire Drill, and we will take part in The Great Washington Shakeout on October 17 to review what to do in the event of an earthquake. If you are visiting or volunteering at the school during a drill or a true emergency, please follow the instructions of the Creekside staff. As a reminder, when in the building, always sign in and out at the office and wear a visitor badge.
