Welcome to ECE 2018-19

Welcome families and friends. Here you can find information about the upcoming events and the classroom activities happening in ECE Room 7.

My name is Bhavneet Gandhoke and I will be the lead teacher working with your child in room 7 here at Discovery Elementary. My students call me "Ms. Bhani". The other staff members who are part of the classroom team are:

  • Ms. Kelsey Face (Speech and Language Pathologist)
  • Ms. Bhumika Chandarana (Occupational Therapist)
  • Ms. Karen Evenson (Physical Therapist)
  • Ms. Hilda Ruiz (Educational assistant)
  • Ms. Doris Ramirez (Educational assistant)
  • Ms. Nipa Dan (Educational assistant)

I look forward to making this an enjoyable and fun year for your child and you. I have been teaching special education for seven years now and this is my fourth year of teaching here at Issaquah school district. I have a Master’s degree in early childhood special education from the University of Washington. I started my career as a special education teacher from India and have loved working in this field ever since!

My focus this year is on making simple better and I will aim towards maximizing your child’s independence in the developmentally appropriate skills.  I hope to build a language rich classroom with a large variety of activities to learn through play and work opportunities.  I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your child and look forward to seeing their progress throughout the school year.  I also believe that strong parent-teacher communication is necessary for a child’s school success.  Please let me know about any changes in your child’s emotional, health, or educational needs as our year together progresses.  Feel free to contact me by phone or email if you have any questions or concerns.
