Third Grade is Going to be Magical
I am very excited to be your child's third grade teacher at Discovery Elementary. Growing up I was a competitive swimmer and competed at several National events. I was even inducted into the Hall of Fame at Seattle University for swimming! I also love to run, read, go camping, boating, shrimping, and crabbing with my husband, and play with my dog, Bella, and my parakeets, Sunshine and Marley. I attended Seattle University where I got my Bachelor’s Degree in English. After college was when I realized I wanted to be a teacher. So, I went on to get my teacher certificate at University of Washington. It has been worth the journey becoming a teacher. I have been teaching for twelve years and still find so much joy being around children. They bring so much enthusiasm and diversity to the classroom. Third grade is a year of becoming more independent and autonomous in student learning. They are also challenged to be creative and imaginative. What I love most about third grade is that children are still inspired by awe and wonder in everything they do.
