By law, the State of Washington requires each school to closely monitor student attendance. All absences will be considered "unexcused" unless we receive notification from you via telephone to the attendance line at 425.837.7353 by 9:00 am the day of the absence, or by written notification as to the reason for the absence. If we do not receive notification, families will receive an automated call which will request that a parent call the attendance line to excuse the absence.
Absences are only considered excused for the following reasons: illness/health, doctor appointments, family emergencies, religious observances, school-approved activities.
Absences due to family trips may only be excused when prior approval is given by the principal.
To gain approval for a trip, please click on link for a "Pre-Arranged Absence Request." Please submit at least 2 weeks prior to the absence. After sending a request you will ONLY BE NOTIFIED IF IT IS NOT APPROVED. There will be no correspondence for approved absences.
Since teachers are not required to create homework packets for excused absences, below are two links to work packets that may be downloaded and printed for your child.
Grades: K-2 OR 3-5
ISD EMERGENCY WEATHER BULLETIN
In cases of an emergency, we need to know who is in the building at all times. Therefore, if you are bringing a child to school after normal start time, please sign them in at the office. If you are volunteering in a classroom, we ask that you sign in and sign out in the office. If you are picking up a student before normal dismissal times, please sign them out in the office and they will be called from their classroom to meet you. Please do not go to their classroom unless asked to do so by the office staff.
If your child loses an article of clothing, school materials, a lunch box, or other personal possessions, please check in the Lost and Found bins near the gym. Please be sure to label your child’s personal possessions so they may be easily located. Unclaimed items will be donated to the Issaquah Clothing Bank periodically.
Children should not bring expensive or treasured personal possessions to school since the district is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Personal collections should only be brought to school with the permission of the teacher. Silly Bands are not allowed at school.
Children may ride a bus other than their regular one: with a written request from the parent to the school indicating the bus route, who they will be going home with and if space is available. Please visit Bus Passes under Quick Links on our main page to print out a bus pass request. The student should bring the request to the office on the morning of the day the student wishes to ride a different bus. Students then pick up the bus pass during their lunch time. NO BUS PASSES WILL BE ISSUED THE FIRST TWO WEEKS or THE LAST TWO WEEKS OF SCHOOL
By state law, all medication must be kept in the school’s office in its original container along with a Request for Medication Form (available from the office). The form must be signed by both the parent and the students physician.
