Do you want to volunteer?

We love our volunteers! If you would like to work in your child's classroom or chaperone a field trip this year, you will need to be volunteer approved. This process is done online and must be done annually at the beginning of the school year. You can access the volunteer application by going to the Issaquah School District website and under the Family Resources tab, you will find the link to the volunteer application.

A complete application will show green checkmarks next to each required step. Your application will not be processed unless each step has been completed.

Visitors and volunteers, please check-in at the office

If you are coming to volunteer, you will need to check in with the office. We will scan your ID (first time only) and then print you a badge which is valid for one school day. When you leave school, please check-out through the office so that we can keep an accurate account of who is in our building. In the event of an emergency, we will be looking for every student, staff member AND volunteer so it is very important that you check out! Please plan on bringing your ID if you have never been at our school as a visitor so that we can get you set up in the system. This system is separate from our volunteer approval process and is a system that is being used district wide to secure our buildings. Thank you for your cooperation.

Attendance

If your student is sick or will not be coming to school, please email grattendance@issaquah.wednet.edu or call 425-837-7925 and let us know. The office manages the attendance record of every student therefore please email the office. If you'd like the teacher included, feel free to cc them.

Any pre-arranged absence of 3 or more days requires a pre-approved absence request form to be filled out and turned in to the office one week prior to your child's absence from school. You can find this form on the Grand Ridge website, or download and print the form here. You will receive an email once your pre-approved absence request has been approved.

Will your student be leaving school early?

If you need to check your student out of school early for an appointment, please plan enough time for us to call them out from class. If you need check them out during lunch or recess, it can take extra time to reach them in the lunchroom or playground. Please take note of our school schedule, and if it is possible to avoid checking them out during lunch or recess, that will make the process quicker.

Referrals of students to determine possible eligibility for the Highly Capable Program will be accepted online beginning September 1 through September 15.

*Please note, all kindergarten students will be screened this fall to determine eligibility for further testing for possible selection into the Highly Capable program.

The District’s referral procedure may include screening procedures as allowed by state statute. 4. Students new to the district enrolling after the Highly Capable fall testing window who meet the screening criteria will be assessed prior to the beginning of the next school year.

Students may be referred by individuals including teachers, other staff, parents, and members of the community.
