The Grand Ridge chorus is intended for students who would like to have extra opportunities to rehearse, perform, and learn about choral singing techniques. Students will meet once a week on Tuesday mornings to rehearse for three concerts throughout the school year.

K Kids (Kiwanis Elementary School Service Club)
K-Kids is an international student-led organization providing members with opportunities to perform service, build character and develop leadership. In K-Kids club, students lead the club, and plan and participate in community service projects. Typical community service projects include assisting the elderly with chores, organizing community food/clothing drives, etc. K-Kids also serve their schools, raising funds for sports equipment and extracurricular activities.
3rd-5th grade students

Student Council promoted student leadership for 4th and 5th graders at Grand Ridge Elementary. Students will be responsible for planning spirit days, service projects, and other events to strengthen the Grand Ridge community.

Xylophone club is intended for students who would like to gain more experience playing in an instrumental group. We will be rehearsing and performing marimba music from around the world. Because there are a limited numbers of instruments, students will audition to gain a spot in the club. Auditions will be held during music class in November/December.

Student Green Team
A student Green Team is needed to plan and prepare for Grand Ridge’s Earth Day/Week. Activities include learning how to research facts, write up communication to then inform our school about related facts, create posters to advertise information, assess how our school is doing in maintaining the goals of a Level 4 school, and adhere to a deadline.

Arts and Crafts Club
Are you in 1st or 2nd grade and enjoy making crafts? Come join Mrs. Fulghum and Mrs. Reiser as we create seasonal crafts and share our creative abilities! Together on Fridays, we will explore different crafts.

Global Reading Challenge
The Global Reading Challenge is a program sponsored by the King County Library in which the upper elementary students read fiction and/or non-fiction books and then compete in a quiz-bowl format based on these books. The books are chosen by the King County Children’s Librarians and represent a variety of interests and reading levels. Students work in teams of six to prepare for the challenges starting at the school level with the possibility of advancing to the district, regional and city levels.

We’re excited to announce the return of our Grand Ridge Knitting Club! We have room for 15 new knitters and 10-15 experienced knitters. Bring some needles and yarn (we’ll have some too) and start a project. We start by teaching the beginning knit stitch, then purling, and finally how to cast on and off the needles.

5th Grade Musical
5th grade students who want to put in extra time for the 5th grade musical will meet once a week on Fridays. Students will have a chance to auditon/apply for singing & acting roles, stage crew, set design, choreography, lighting and sound design.
