IVE Lobby Project - Link to Items/Talents Needed

Dear IVE Families and Surrounding Community Members,

We are embarking on an exciting new adventure here at IVE! We are looking at how we can beautify our school and make it more welcoming to families and community members. We are planning on beginning this adventure with the entryway to our school.

Right now, our entryway is a jumble of furniture, empty display cases, pamphlets & brochures as well as our safety patrol equipment. It is not neat and clean or inviting. We would like to change that by finding creative ways to store and tidy up some of the needed brochures and equipment. We also want to beautify it by adding furniture, lamps, baskets and plants.

We are working hard to keep our costs low as we don’t have a budget for this type of endeavor. That is why we are reaching out to our community. Mrs. Scott – one of the Title 1/LAP reading specialists here at IVE is also a researcher and writer regarding classroom design. She has offered to spearhead the project. She has made a list of items that would be wonderfully helpful in creating a fresh, welcoming space for our families and communities to experience when they enter the school.

Please look at the list of materials and talents that we may need to complete the project--click HERE. If you have something(s) you would like to donate, we would love to hear about it. We are looking for goods as well as skills and manpower. If you are someone who would like to donate time to refinishing a piece of furniture, sewing curtains, creating a wall mural, or hanging picture frames, etc. we would LOVE your help.   Please contact Janet Scott at scottj@issaquah.wednet.edu if you have something you would like to offer.

We are in the beginning stages of gathering the needed supplies and talents. It will be impossible to finalize the plan for the project without knowing what kinds of furniture pieces we might receive as well as what people offer in the way of skills.

We are excited about this project and committed to creating a welcoming environment for our IVE community. Thank you in advance for sharing your resources with us!

Sincerely,

Michelle Pickard, Principal
