 PBSES Popcorn, PJ’s and Partnership Parent Night

On April 18th from 6-7:30 IVE PBSES will be hosting Popcorn, PJ’s and Partnership Parent night. While the students watch a movie in their PJ’s, the parents will have an opportunity to attend 3 of 6 provided sessions focused on students emotional well-being and how parents can support them at home. The topics that will be covered include how to help students navigating social skills, behavioral tips and tricks, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, and how to support your student with the SBAC. There are sessions that would benefit every family. We would love to see you there!

 

IVE Night at the Mariners Game

Bring your family and friends to T-Mobile Park on Saturday. April 27th at 6:10pm to watch some exciting MLB action vs. the Rangers. We have a large block of  seats reserved, so order your seats now and join us for some fun. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Mitch Haniger Bobblehead, so get there early! Watch for our school’s name on the video board in the 4th inning for our special welcome. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased online at IVEPTA.ORG. If you would like to sit with another family please place one order for the entire group. A portion of sales will benefit IVE PTA! Tickets will be distributed via the email provided with payment. ISF Annual Nourish Every Mind Luncheon

The IVE PTA is proud to support Issaquah Schools Foundation at their annual Nourish Every Mind Luncheon on Friday May 3rd from noon to 1pm at The MeydenbauerCenter. If you'd like to join the IVE PTA table, please select our table captain Kimberly Brown during your registration at the link here: http://isfdn.org/register/. If the breakfast event on Tuesday May 14th from 7:30-8:30am at Eastridge Church works better for you, please select IVE during registration to be seated with other IVE supporters.

 

ParentWiser Presents

  • TEEN VAPING - an epidemic sweeping the nation! Explore the impact of vaping and juuling on our young people, and what parents need to know about it. ParentWiser and Influence the Choice partner to bring TEEN VAPING presented by local substance use expert Jerry Blackburn, April 25th 7pm at Issaquah High School. For PARENTS ONLY of grades 5-12. Register at http://ParentWiser.org.

  

  • Reduce Academic Stress w/o Sacrificing Achievement, by School Program Director Mary Hofstedt of CHALLENGE SUCCESS, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Standford University Graduate School of Education. This interactive workshop based on the Well Balanced Student by Challenge Success helps parents focus on your child's needs while growing up, establish a healthier home environment, and increase your child's resilience, creativity, and well-being. May 6th 7-8:30pm at Skyline HS, or May 7th 10-11:30am at Kidstage Village Theatre in Issaquah.  For parents of K-12; free for PTSA members in Issaquah School District,  $10 donation for non-members.  Register at http://ParentWiser.org

Parents Night Out at Karate West

Do your kids need a guaranteed night of fun without their parents? Do you need a guaranteed night out without your kids? Drop your kids at Parents Night Out at Karate West and support the IVE PTA! Next PNO is Friday May 3rd, 6-9pm. The cost is $35 per child and includes pizza dinner and supervised activities. Golden Acorn & Outstanding Educator Awards 2018-2019

This year our field of nominations was large with so many deserving volunteers and staff from our IVE community. Our students, staff and parents benefit greatly from the countless hours of devoted service by all of the nominees. DIVE (Dads [and dudes] of IVE) Update

A huge thank you to everyone who has jumped in with the DIVE program this year. We have a few more DIVE recesses planned for the Spring and look forward to doing even more with our new group next year! We have have several more training opportunities coming your way in the fall.

 

We have made the decision to cancel the evening training previously scheduled for Wednesday, April 17 and not to hold any more evening trainings for the DIVE program this year, but we don’t want that to stop you if you are interested in joining out group. If you are interested in joining DIVE for one of our final three recess days this year, then please reach out to Tim Baynes at BaynesT@issaquah.wednet.edu and Jamal Siddiqui at dive@ivepta.org to coordinate a brief training opportunity. Our focus this year is on being a positive presence playing with students at recess and we’d love to have you out there! Thank you, Jamal and Tim”

 

School Supplies for Next (2019-20) School Year

As a convenience for our families and staff, PTA is offering the option of school supply pack ordering for the 2019-2020 school year. Ordering is available April 15th through June 21st. Order today and get this checked off your summer to-do list! Go to www.schooltoolbox.com and click “find boxes now” then choose your child's grade level for NEXT school year. The supply lists are compiled by our teachers and include name brands, great pricing and convenience. All items will be shipped directly to IVE and will be ready for your child when they arrive in the Fall. Each School Tool Box purchased provides a meal to a child through Feed My Starving Children. If you have any questions about ordering please contact president@ivepta.org
