ISF Creativity is Essential: Parent Education & Maker Night

IVE Pancake Dinner and Game Night
Please join us for our next IVE Community Event! We will have a FREE Pancake Dinner for IVE Families (along with some other food and drinks). Bring your favorite board games to play, and we will have lots of fun! January 25th from 6:00-8:00pm in the MPR.
Parents Night Out at Karate West
Did you know it is substantially easier to get a dinner reservation for Valentine's Day if you don't go on the actual day? How about the first Friday in February? Sign up for Parents Night Out at Karate West and support the IVE PTA! The Next PNO is next
Friday February 1st, 6-9pm. The cost is $35 per child and includes pizza dinner and supervised activities. Select IVE when you register here:
ParentWiser Talk: Teen Vaping
Explore the impact of vaping and “juuling” on our young people, and what parents need to know about it. ParentWiser and Influence the Choice bring you TEEN VAPING presented by local expert Jerry Blackburn of Friends
of Youth, Feb 4th 7pm at Issaquah High School. Intended for PARENTS ONLY of grades 5-12. Free attendance. Register at http://ParentWiser.org.
Incoming Kindergarten Families for 2019-2020
The IVE Kindergarten Parent Information Night will be Tuesday, February 5th from 6:00-7:00pm in the MPR. If you have a child turning 5 by August 31st, 2019 they are eligible to start kindergarten this coming fall. The process for registration has changed
so be sure to plan to attend this important informational meeting for parents.
Variety Show “A Star is Born”
WSPTA Focus Day
During each year’s legislative session, Washington State PTA holds its annual Focus Day that brings members together at the state capitol to advocate for the association’s top five issues. Please see the link for more details on how to get involved and attend
this important event (students are encouraged to attend as well). If you are unable to attend, you can find pre-made postcards to fill in and send to your legislators.
IVE's Variety Show team is looking for volunteers to help with rehearsals and performances. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work backstage, help with art activities while the kids wait for their act, and assist with the technical aspects of the show.
There is no experience necessary. Remaining rehearsals are on 1/30, & 2/6 from 1:30-3:30pm in the MPR and the performances are on Friday, 2/8 in the afternoon and evening.To join the team contact Jennifer and Megan at firstname.lastname@example.org.

PTA Budget Survey
The PTA Board and Budget Committee are soliciting input from all IVE families for the 2019-2020 PTA budget. There is no need to be a member of the PTA or volunteer to participate in the survey. The survey is a brief 3 questions and responses will be kept
anonymous. We would like to encourage all families to provide their input on the important PTA fundraising and programming that enhances our school community. Please visit the following survey links and provide your input by February 6, 2019. Thank you for

We need your Pictures! The majority of the IVE yearbook pictures are taken by you...our wonderful parents and volunteers. Throughout the year, we want you to submit pictures from school events and community activities. We strive to have every child in the

ISF Impact Scholarship Applications due Feb 15th:
The ISF is once again offering scholarships to help juniors and seniors in the ISD continue their educational journeys. The Impact Scholarship will be awarded to students who submit essays that describe how Foundation-funded programs have enriched their
education. For more information on the scholarships and how to apply, please visit the
