Hello Sunny Hills Families,

 

It is hard to believe that it is already November! The holiday season is around the corner. This is a great opportunity to teach children the joy of giving and the importance of building/re-building relationships with family and friends.

  • Parent tips - Check out this this website for some tips for parents to teach children to give.
  • Volunteering with your children can be a great opportunity to teach them to give. Here is a Parents magazine article that provides different websites for families to get involved in volunteering in their zip code area.
  • Here are some great programs to help alleviate the financial stress of the Holidays!
    • Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank: Holiday Gift Barn
      • Pickering Barn is turned into a department store on December 4th and 5th allowing families in the Issaquah School District to shop and choose complimentary gifts for their children.
      • Gift wrapping and child care is available to help parents keep gifts a secret until Christmas Day.
      • Check the link to donate and volunteer.
      • Register Here - Registration is open between now and November 29th.
    • Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank: Lunch for Break: (Winter Break, Mid-Winter Break, and Spring Break each school year).
      • Families can select a variety of options at three different site locations, or pick up a prepackaged box of food containing breakfast, lunch, and snack items for each school-age child in a family.
