Are you interested in being a Site Council Rep? We are looking for an Intermediate Parent Rep (this means you have a student in Grade 3, 4 or 5) to serve on our Site Council for the 2019-2020 school year. We have 4 meetings/year. A calendar of dates will be provided at our first meeting.
If you are interested, please send me a paragraph explaining how you feel you could contribute to this council, made up of community members, PTA members, other parents and staff members. We are a site-based collaborative team that works as a partnership to discuss issues that are timely in our community and in our school. We would LOVE to have you join our team. One rep will be chosen and all who apply will be notified of the decision.
Please have your submission completed and emailed by Wednesday, November 20th.

Message from your School Nurse:
This year’s vision and hearing screening is coming up on November 18th, 2018. All students in grade K-3 and 5th grade (4th grade is NOT being screened) will go through the screening. If you do not want your child to go through the vision &/or hearing screening please email me and let me know, email@example.com. This event could not happen without all of the wonderful parent volunteers! Please reach out to Sunset’s PTA or the School Nurse, Jenny Colyar, for more information on how to sign-up to volunteer.

Please bring only new, unwrapped items & drop them off in the Sunset office by Dec 2nd. Volunteers will then take all items to Pickering Barn for Issaquah Food Bank families to do their holiday shopping! Thank you for helping spread joy & happiness this holiday season!

Teacher Grants - The Issaquah Schools Foundation provides an opportunity for all teachers to apply for grants to fund projects that enrich education, fill unmet needs, and/or serve as incubators for innovation. Many PTSAs offer teacher grants as well, which is great! There are times when a grant is for a larger need, may be spread to more than one school, or is simply out of a given PTSA’s budget. The Foundation is here to support those ideas that teachers have to best support our student’s education. The Foundation’s grant process is all online and will open on November 8th. More information can be found at: http://isfdn.org/our-purpose/promoting-professional-development/grants/.
Our fall campaign, Step up for Kids is still in full swing! Donations can be made online at: http://isfdn.org/donate/.
