Issaquah High Families,

Snowflakes in the forecast again – so a quick reminder out to everyone about how the Issaquah School District handles weather related school changes. See the links below to be reminded/informed of our winter weather info:

A few highlights include:

  • Subscribe to receive weather delay and closure texts or emails from transportation department at FlashAlert.net. Please note this is for weather emergencies only.
  • The goal is to announce any school related changes by 6am. However, weather is always unpredictable and doesn’t always give us that timely opportunity.
  • If a school related change is a one or two hour late start, Issaquah High will post and send out a bell schedule for the impacted day shortly after the school day change is announced.
  • Our new modified block schedule adds all new challenges to school weather changes. If we have a school related change on a block day (Tu or Wed), we may run a 1-7 day on a normal block day or a block day on a normal 1-7 day to get class time distributed more evenly. The decision around this is to give teachers as close to equivalent time in each period. We will create bell schedules in real time based on current information and send out in various formats (Enews, student remind text, website) so just plan to stay connected during any weather related school changes.
