Track and Field Fundraiser

The IHS Track and Field program is running a campaign to raise funds for a new pole vaulting pit.  A quality pit costs approximated $20K - $26K.  In addition to this big expenditure, Track and Field also has other expenses throughout the season, such as equipment for shot, javelin and discus, the FAT (fully automatic timing system), high jump/long jump elevated platform, hurdles, and invitational fees.  Anyone can make a donation through FanAngel, and Booster Club Members can donate through the IHS Booster Club.  Please click here to donate, any amount helps!  Track and Field Donation

Tuxes and Tiaras provided a fun opportunity last weekend for high school seniors and their prom dates to shop for free! Available were hundreds of beautiful, donated formal dresses, with men’s formal wear, shoes, and accessories! Volunteers spent countless hours turning Our Savior Lutheran Church into an upscale boutique experience for shoppers. Every student left with a dress or tuxedo. All shoppers were thrilled with the selection of formalwear. Additionally, several senior girls picked up the perfect prom trifecta: dress, shoes, and jewelry! Special thanks to Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Liberty PTSA, Issaquah PTSA, and Skyline High PTSA, along with all the dedication Tuxes and Tiaras VOLUNTEERS for supporting this new event!  Looking forward to the next September’s Tuxes and Tiaras event, in time for Homecoming!

Seniors:  Thank you for reporting Community Service hours. Congratulations to our graduating seniors who made a substantial commitment to their communities, completing a whopping 39,473 hours of community service. This year, 203 students met the 100 hour minimum, many with more than 100 hours! White honor cords will be passed along May 24th, 2018, after school.  Great work, Seniors!!!!!!!!

The IH PTSA thanks the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank for their continuous efforts in helping to feed food insecure students at IHS with weekend Power Packs.  Family and childhood hunger is a real problem in our community. In ISD, some schools have up to 20% of students on free/ reduced lunches. During the week, school lunch is sometimes the only meal a student will eat. On weekends, some students go hungry. Issaquah Power Packs was created to help end weekend hunger in ISD, so that students are ready to learn on Monday!  For more information, and how to get involved, visit Issaquah Power Packs.
