State Science Testing - June 4th

The Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) will be administered on computers for the first time in Spring 2018.  The District is required to test eleventh grade students on the WCAS in order to meet Federal accountability requirements, it is not a graduation requirement for the Class of 2018 or 2019.  The schedule and information about this particular test for your student is posted on our school website with some resources.  Go to the right hand side and click on “state testing”.  IHS will test on Monday June 4th from 8-11am.  It covers various science concepts including: Physical Sciences; Life Sciences; Earth and Space Sciences; and Engineering, Technology, and Applications of Science.  The school will be on a  special schedule that day with only 11th graders testing from 8-11am.  Students not in 11th grade are encouraged to stay off campus while testing occurs.  Students who take busses to school will have the opportunity to sit in Study Halls from 8-11 am. Students in Running Start may come to the library anytime that day to start the test if they cannot be present from 8-11 am.

Track and Field Fundraiser

The IHS Track and Field program is running a campaign to raise funds for a new pole vaulting pit.  A quality pit costs approximated $20K - $26K.  In addition to this big expenditure, Track and Field also has other expenses throughout the season, such as equipment for shot, javelin and discus, the FAT (fully automatic timing system), high jump/long jump elevated platform, hurdles, and invitational fees.  Anyone can make a donation through FanAngel, and Booster Club Members can donate through the IHS Booster Club.  Please click here to donate, any amount helps!  Track and Field Donation Stay up to date and see pictures of our athletes in action at:  XC, Track & Field Website
