IH PTSA HEALTHY STUDENT CHAIR NEEDED:  PTSA knows there is lots of "good stuff" out there students could benefit from.  This committee has flexibility to bring ideas to the PTSA, then work with the appropriate parties to bring events and information to the students that are not addressed elsewhere in PTSA.  In recent years these efforts have included support of Mental Health Awareness Week, Sexual Assault Awareness and Self Defense seminars, support of BE TRUE, and various student driven school improvements. The committee chair attends final presentations in Sophomore Psychology (student school improvement suggestions) during finals week each semester, and follows up on ideas that are of interest to the PTSA.  Time commitment is year long, but varies from very little to a couple weeks of focused activity near a supported event.   Requires monthly updates and summaries of events to PTSA VPs, coordination with PTSA board, school administrators/staff, community organizations/members, etc. (depending on event). The type of programs supported will change annually based on interest from the committee / PTSA, students, staff, and parents.  For more information, contact Victoria Evans.

New Family Ambassadors Program:  Experienced IHS families needed who would be interested in helping new to IHS families transition within our IHS and Issaquah community? We’re scheduling some great get-togethers, family dinners, and events, throughout the year! Don’t miss out! Consider becoming an Ambassador for a new family next September.  Contact Rebecca Fay and Amber Zielinski at ihsnewfamilyconnect@gmail.com.
