Graduation Security Protocol At Safeco Field

Safeco has introduced new security procedures this year. Please note that everyone attending graduation will need to go through metal detectors and be aware of their list of prohibited items.

Safeco does NOT allow the following items:

  • Backpacks or bags larger than 16” x 16 X 8”
  • Balloons, beach balls or other inflatable items
  • Camera support – tripods, mono pods and selfie sticks
  • Noise makers – air horns, bells, whistles, drums, bull horns, etc.
  • Weapons – of any kind
  • Drones or any unmanned aerial devices or other motorized devices
  • Skateboards  hover boards, roller blades or skates, razor scooters
  • Any item to be deemed by management to be dangerous or inappropriate
  • Gifts that are larger than the size requirements or cannot be inspected by security. ]

Safeco does allow:

  • Factory sealed bottles of water up to 32 oz
  • Small individual children’s sized juice boxes or pouches, without screwtops

Graduation Tickets

Seniors receive 4 graduation tickets.

There is no limit on the number of additional tickets that can be purchased at $12.00 per ticket.

There are a few ways to purchase extra tickets.

1 – Tickets will be available for purchase on line only from 5-28-18 through 6-10-18, then you pick them up at the bookkeepers window the week of June 11th.

2 – Tickets can be purchased at the bookkeepers window the week of June 11th – cash, check, or charge.

3 – Tickets can be purchase at the door the night of graduation– which is a cash only option.

Club or Athletic Cords for Graduation

This year, we are introducing two new cords to acknowledge student athletes and dedicated club members at graduation.  In order to be eligible and register for each cord students must meet all deadlines and requirements. Students who successfully registered for cords and met all requirements will be able to purchase a maximum of one club and one athletic cord for $7 beginning on May 24thduring Cap and Gown Pick Up.  The last day to pick up cords from the ASB Bookkeeper will be at 3:00 pm on June 14th at 3:00 pm.

Traffic Safety Education

The Summer session of the Issaquah High School Traffic Safety Education program will open for enrollment on Monday, May 7. The application is available on the Teacher webpage tab under Brenda Fortier (CTE and PE) as well as the school website. Enrollment is open to the first 18 students that apply so sign up today.

Issaquah Speaks: TED Talks:  Join other IHS students for our FIRST open conversation. Give a speech about ANYTHING you’re passionate about!  Share your club’s mission, something you’ve done, what do you hope to achieve?  Seniors, share your college essays to inspire the next generations!  There are two divisions:  Student Talks, and Club Discussions.  All grades welcome to participate!  Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 7th, at 6:00 PM.  For more information, email

Mark Your Calendars:  Next IH PTSA Membership Meeting will be Friday, June 8th, 2018, at 9:30 AM, in the IHS Conference Room.  We look forward to seeing everyone there to wrap-up the 2017-18 school year, and discuss IH PTSA and IHS updates, as well! 

Volunteers Needed!  Looking for volunteers to assemble and prepare IHS School-wide Emergency Backpacks, for the 2018-2019 school year.  It’s a great way to get involved, meet new parents, supporting students and IHS. For more information, email Tracie Jones.

BE SURE TO MARK YOUR CALENDERS!  Also on June 15th, 2018, Senior Breakfast @ 10:30 AM. Seniors are treated to breakfast in the IHS commons as they share memories, just prior to graduation rehearsals.  We look forward to celebrating with our graduating class of 2018!
