Student Schedules

Student schedules for the 2019-20 school year are now live. Remember, teachers and class periods will not be visible as we are still balancing classes through late August. Teachers and periods become visible on September 3rd after 4pm which is also when we want students to log back in and print their schedules.

Please remember that students committed to the courses they registered for in March.  Please note that changes will only be made if there is room available in the class, if a teacher recommended the change, or if the course you originally selected was canceled and there is not room in your schedules.  If students are hoping to make a change, please review the schedule change process here and complete the schedule change request form here.  Please note that changes will be made on a first come, first served basis and that filling out the form multiple times will not expedite your request.

If you're interested in being a TA or Peer Tutor please use the google doc here to sign up!

 Fall Sports Night

Fall sports night will be on Thursday 8/29/2019 in the main gym at Issaquah High School starting at 6:30, with individual coaches meetings to follow. This meeting is mandatory for all fall athletes and highly recommended for parents. Boosters will be selling logo wear.

 Student Parking

Parking forms will be collected between September 4th and September 6th. Each student driver will need to fill out their own form and present it along with their driver's license to Mr. Lasher, in the Security Office. Students wishing to carpool will need to turn in forms together, and all drivers in a carpool will need to present their licenses. All considered for carpools need at least 2 licensed drivers. One MUST be of at least intermediate status. The fee for parking is $140. The fee for WaNic/running start parking is $70. WaNic/running start students must only be on campus for three or fewer periods to obtain parking.

We have a limited number of stalls at IHS, therefore we will issue stalls in the lottery in the following order. Carpools are selected first, single senior drivers are second, and single junior drivers are third. All forms must be turned between the 4th-6th of September, with no exceptions. A list will be formulated and posted on Tuesday the 10th. If your name is on the list, you will have until September 13th to pay the bookkeeper. The bookkeeper will close her doors at 2:30 daily. All fines and fees must be paid prior to paying for parking.  Any space not paid for by the 13 will be forfeited and reassigned. All fines and fees must be paid before a stall can be paid for.

Parking will be open for all until September 13th, but only in the Student Parking Lots.  Any student who parks in staff, parking fire lane, the parent drop off lane, or any place outside of student parking will be ticketed or towed. However, parking tickets will still be given for students parking in visitor, staff, drop off, or any non-designated parking area.

 Highly Capable Program Referral Window

The Highly Capable Program Referral Window is Open September 1stthrough September 15th. Referrals of students to determine possible eligibility for the Highly Capable Program will be accepted onlinebeginning September 1 through September 15.

*Please note, all kindergarten students will be screened this fall to determine eligibility for further testing for possible selection into the Highly Capable program.

The District’s referral procedure may include screening procedures as allowed by state statute. Please go to the Highly Capable website for further information and to access the online referral questionnaire and referral form. Individuals making a referral must use the District provided online referral form.  The following exceptions will apply:

  1. Referrals will not be accepted for students who were tested for the Highly Capable Program in the previous school year.
  1.    Referrals for second grade students will not be accepted as testing for these students will occur mid-year.
  2. Referrals for students new to the district who enroll after September 15 will be accepted for ten (10) school days from the enrollment date.
  3.    Students new to the district enrolling after the Highly Capable fall testing window who meet the screening criteria will be assessed prior to the beginning of the next school year.

Students may be referred by individuals including teachers, other staff, parents, and members of the community.

 IHS Traffic Safety Education

The Fall session of the Issaquah High School Traffic Safety Education program will open for enrollment on Monday, August 19. The application is attached, but please keep in mind that the bookkeeper WILL NOT accept forms or payment until Monday, August 19.

Please download the attached registration form, fill it out, and bring it with payment to the bookkeeper. Enrollment is limited to the first 20 students that apply so sign up today. As soon as the bookkeeper has accepted your paperwork and money, you are enrolled in the program. You will then be able to go to the DOL 10 days prior to the first day of class to pick up your permit without taking the test.

There are NO scholarships for this class as it is an extra-curricular activity not required for graduation. However, we do offer a payment plan. Please email Mrs. Fortier if you are interested in breaking up the cost into smaller increments.

If you have any questions regarding the traffic safety program, please contact Brenda Fortier at

An Important Change in Washington State Law Regarding Vaccinations

Effective July 28, 2019 no personal or philosophical exemptions from the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccination will be available to families. The law applies to all public and private schools and licensed child care facilities in Washington State.

If a student has had a personal or philosophical exemption in the past, we must now have documentation of MMR immunization from a health care provider or on or before the first day of school on September 4, 2019 as a condition of enrollment. The new law does not affect religious or medical exemptions.

Two doses of MMR are required for all students in grades K-12. The two doses must be given at least 28 days apart. When your child has a first MMR vaccination, please let your school nurse know the date it occurred as well as the date the second dose is administered. We are notifying families now to allow sufficient time to meet the new immunization requirement before the first day of school.

More information can be found at the WA Department of Health exemption law change web page, including FAQs: You are also welcome and encouraged to contact your school nurse if you have questions.
