Mission Statement

The mission of the school library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.   The “Teacher-Librarian” empowers students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.” -  AASL 2009

IHS Library Etiquette:

  • All school rules apply in the library.
  • BE RESPECTFUL of classmates, teachers, the library staff, and all materials and equipment. 
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the library.
  • Students must be actively working on class work, homework, research, or reading while in the library
  • Have a signed pass from a teacher or staff member whenever individually using the library during regular class time. 
  • Check out all materials at the circulation desk before taking them from the library.
  • Use computers and Internet in accordance with the district’s Internet Acceptable Use Policy Form and instructions from Library Staff.          Academic use only 

Check Out Policy:
You may check out up to 5 books

Books are due in 4 weeks
(20 school days) 
Once Due:
A late notice will be delivered to you as reminder
A daily late fee of .05 will apply to each late book
@ .50 - $4.00 payment is made with ASB Bookkeeper
You may renew book once

Please return as soon as you are done, so someone else may check it out!
