Are you considering Running Start?
Junior and senior students who qualify for the Running Start Program may take pre-approved courses at a local community or technical college that receive both high school and college credit and grades. Application to the program must be made at the community college in the spring prior to the year of academic enrollment. Included in the application process is an assessment test given by the college. This test measures a student’s basic skills needed to succeed in college. Students have the option of attending a pre-set combination of high school and college classes, or attending the college full time.

Each quarter, students must have the LHS counselor sign a Running Start enrollment verification form. The form is located on the website of the college the student is attending. When a student has identified what courses they are going to take and has completed the form, they need to call the LHS office at 425-837-4833 in advance to make an appointment with their counselor. PLEASE NOTE: Counselors book appointments weeks in advance and drop ins will not be seen. Students must call ahead to make an appointment.
