Gibson Ek High School Applications
Gibson Ek High School is now accepting applications from current 8th graders for the 2020-2021 school year. Gibson Ek is a project based, real world learning school where students personalize their learning through projects, design labs, and internships in a vibrant and supportive environment. Students in the Class of 2024 are invited to learn more about how Gibson Ek continues to reimagine education at our upcoming information sessions:
Jan. 13 and Feb. 10 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the GEHS Commons.
Jan. 31 at the student-run Gibson Ek Fest from 5-8 p.m.
Applications are open now until Monday, February 24, 2020 followed by a lottery for admission on February 27th at 4:30 pm.

At the Festival of Cultures, we will “go around the world” and learn more about the culture, food, music and traditions of the countries representing the rich diversity of our school. This free event is a partnership between the school, PTSA, ASB, and Beaver Lake families for the whole community to enjoy.

Preparing for Winter Weather
With snowflakes in the 10-day forecast, please make sure your family and child care givers are signed up for snow day closure and delay texts or emails from our Transportation Department through FlashAlert. (Only families with verified mobile numbers in Family Access will receive texts from the District.) The District and school websites will post information by 6:30 a.m. Please take a moment to locate your Emergency Transportation Bulletin (ETB) that was mailed out in October or access the ETB online. Also take a moment to use SNOW E-Link to find your emergency snow route and make sure you check the chart below to become familiar with program changes due to delays and closures. Coaching Positions We would not be able to have these wonderful athletic programs without coaches! If you or someone you know would like to coach, please apply online.
Sports Physicals An original, signed doctor physical form must be turned in to the office where it will be kept on file. Scanned, faxed, or photocopied physicals will not be accepted. If you have participated in a sport this school year, we have the original on file. Physicals should be dated on or after June 1, 2019.
Registration - Opened January 14 Similar to ISD high schools, registration for middle school sports will be completed online. The ISD Middle School Sports webpage contains a link to the Athletic Gateway Registration Portal to register for the current season of sports (located at the very bottom of the webpage). Athletic Gateway uses your Family Access login for Skyward. If you don't know your username or password, go to Family Access and click on "Forgot your Login/Password." You will receive an email with a link to reset your password from Family Access. PLEASE NOTE: If you reset your password in Skyward, your new password will not work in Gateway until the next day.
Once a parent has completely finished the online process he/she should see a “congratulations” message that allows them to print a “confirmation” form. This confirmation page is one of the three hard copy documents required to be submitted to the Beaver Lake Office.

Sports Fees All athletes are required to purchase a $35 ASB membership (once per school year). Sport-specific fees for Soccer and Basketball are $50.00. The fee for Intramural sports is $20.00. All steps in the registration process must be completed the Friday before the start of the season to guarantee participation clearance for the first day of tryouts. Intramural sports will begin after the start of the season.
Payment for sports fees may be paid after notification of making a Varsity or JV team. Non-cut sports require paid sports fees to start practice.

IB Information Night at Skyline
Dear 7th and 8th Grade Parents,
On Wednesday, January 22nd, Skyline High School will be hosting an IB (International Baccalaureate) Information night from 6:00 – 8:30pm. The first half hour will consist of a current IB Student Q&A followed by a two hour presentation with time for questions. If you are interested in learning more about the IB program when your student is in Skyline, this event is recommended. Please direct any questions regarding the event or program to Chris Wilder, IB Diploma Coordinator at Skyline High School.

Beaver Lake Middle School Twitter Account
We now have a Twitter account for our school. Mrs. Cho is starting to tweet about our bulldogs and you are all encouraged to follow along.
Volunteer at Beaver Lake
All volunteers must complete the online registration and be approved each school year.
If you were approved to volunteer last year, you will need to sign into the system, go to your check-off list and make sure all information is updated and current, then submit for approval for this new school year. New volunteers will need to complete the entire approval process before being able to volunteer.
Online volunteer registration applies to all parents and community members who are on campus before, during, or after school. High school students can get a volunteer form from our office.
