2 Hour Delay - Friday, Feb. 7, 2020
Included in this E-News:
Dear ISD Families and Staff,
We have made an early decision to call a two hour delay to the start of school tomorrow, Friday, February 7. The two hour delay allows the peak morning commuter congestion to clear, allows more time for school staff – as well as bus drivers – to report to work, and offers us the opportunity to survey roads and the conditions at our schools in daylight. While we always prefer to have school start on time and students learning in classrooms, we need to get everyone here safely as well.
If we have any updates or changes to the two hour late start, we will send messages out by 6:30 a.m. You can always find our announcements on the ISD website or your school website.
Note: Some bus stops may be affected. If there is a change to your child's route, you will be contacted by the Transportation Department directly.
We do still expect slow traffic and delays like we experienced on Thursday. Student pickup and drop off times at various bus stops and school locations may cause late arrivals to school even with the two-hour delay to the start of the day. Students arriving late will not be marked as tardy. Please watch for texts, emails, and phone calls from the Transportation Department. We ask for your patience as we all work through the morning commute.
