Annual Community Report for the 2018-2019 School Year

The Issaquah School District invites the community to view our annual report online for the 2018-2019 school year. The report contains an interactive scorecard along with links to take a deeper dive into student performance data on state assessments. Because student achievement is also demonstrated through extra-curricular activities, the arts, community service, leadership, and citizenship, the report connects to our snapshots page celebrating these accomplishments. Information and links are also provided to learn about programs and services designed to assist students in accomplishing the ISD School Board’s Ends for Students. An overview of the District’s finances including revenues and expenditures is reported along with a comprehensive guide to understanding the 2018-2019 budget. For more information regarding the community report, please contact Executive Director of Communications, L. Michelle at or 425-837-7004.

Important Note: The Issaquah School District is committed to providing access to all individuals visiting our district website, including persons with disabilities. If you cannot access content on our website or this annual report because of a disability, please call L. Michelle at 425-837-7004 or email and describe the nature of the accessibility needs and your contact information. We will make every effort to provide the information requested in an accessible format and seek to correct any accessibility issues on our website.

Highly Capable Screening Test Results Available on Family Access for Current Kindergarten Students

Screening of current kindergarten students for the Highly Capable Program is complete. To view CogAT screener results, log in to Family Access. Results are reported as a single matrix score. A matrix score of 7 or greater on the CogAT screener (Cognitive Abilities Test) is needed to be eligible for further testing for possible selection for the Primary Enrichment Program. The following link provides detailed information about how a matrix score is calculated and why the Issaquah School District uses this approach:

Questions on the CogAT Screener test show how well students use reasoning skills to solve problems for which they have not been directly taught. For this reason, the test questions do not parallel what the students are learning in school. Therefore, the score on the screener does not equate with your student’s grade level achievement or report card standing.

Second Grade Highly Capable Testing

Highly capable testing for second grade students will occur January 14 through January 17 and continue March 10 through March 13. Students who are identified as “most highly capable” will be invited to enter either SAGE or MERLIN in the 20-21 school year. Second grade students attending private or home-based schools are invited to participate and are encouraged to contact their neighborhood school for more information about how to participate. More information about the Issaquah School District Highly Capable Program and testing for second grade students is available on the Issaquah School District Website at

Middle School and High School Online Learning Registration

Interested in taking a high school course online? The Issaquah School District offers online learning courses to 7-12th grade students who attend ISD high schools and middle schools. We provide students with an opportunity to take high school level courses online. There are several reasons why online learning may be advantageous to a student: acceleration, credit deficiency, credit recovery, enrichment, grade improvement, graduation requirement, learning style and/or course is not offered at their school. For more information, please visit the online learning website.

Check our Peachjar community bulletin boards!

The Issaquah School District partners with Peachjar, an online bulletin board system, to help families see all the opportunities happening with community partners in the greater ISD community.
