Throughout this year, the students and I have been working on growth mindset.  I have found that participation has been a struggle among the group of kiddos in our classroom, particularly with having the mindset or self-confidence to take risks in sharing their thinking.  We have had many conversations about how important it is to share your thinking, because other students and adults learn from what you have to say.  One way we can help support our kids to have a growth mindset is to think about the way we talk to them and what words we use.  Encouraging our kids to take risks and to be proud of the hard work they put into their accomplishments rather than the accomplishments themselves.  Here is a great article about ways parents can talk to their children to encourage a growth mindset.
