Students are expected to read every night at home- weekends are optional! Please encourage your child to read at least 15 minutes every weekday.
Comprehension is a key component of reading. Ask your child about the story they are reading! Some questions you might ask are:
* What do you think this book will be about? Why?
*What do you think will happen next?
*What is the problem in the story? The Solution?
*When you read this part, what did you picture in your head?
*Who are the main characters? What are they like?
*How did the characters change throughout the story?
Social Studies: I understand how families change over time, where they live, what their roles and responsibilities are, and how they meet their needs and wants
Math: I can use my math manipulatives as tools
Writing: I can use stamina to write the whole time
Reading: I can identify a just right book
I can use stamina to read the whole time
