Students are expected to read every night at home- weekends are optional! Please encourage your child to read at least 15 minutes every weekday. Monthly reading logs are always due on the last day of the month!
Comprehension is a key component of reading. Ask your child about the story they are reading! Some questions you might ask are:
* What do you think this book will be about? Why?
*What do you think will happen next?
*What is the problem in the story? The Solution?
*When you read this part, what did you picture in your head?
*Who are the main characters? What are they like?
*How did the characters change throughout the story?
