Important Upcoming News:

  June 22 and 23:
*There is one last read aloud in your child's Seesaw from their Reading Club teacher this week!
*Progress Reports for Trimester 3 will be emailed individually on Tuesday.

For Summer:
*Lexia: Keep working to have your child meet their goal minutes for Lexia each week. 10-15 minutes per day makes a big difference!
*Read! Read! Read! Any and all reading is so beneficial! 
Your child can:
      *listen to you read
      *read to you
      *share reading (reading back and forth)
      *listen to books on tape or books online 


  Seesaw will be available through July 31st! If there are any lessons your child didn't complete, or that you want to have your child watch again, go back on to the Reading Club Seesaw page!!

We will have regular office hours if you need to reach one of us immediately.
** We will ensure that one of the Reading Club teachers will reply to emails in a timely manner even if it is outside of office hours.

What is the Title I/LAP Reading Program?

The Title I/LAP Program, called Reading Club at Clark, provides supplemental reading support to selected students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. 

A certificated teacher provides research-based strategies to small groups of students to increase reading skills. 

Our curriculum supports the learning in the classroom.

 

Who do we serve?

Student eligibility in Title I/LAP Reading Club is determined by:

 [*]A rank ordered list based on:

        *assessment scores from the SBA and 
             
Fountas and Pinnell reading assessments
        *screening for phonological awareness and
             letter
sounds in Kindergarten
        *report card grades in reading

        *teacher recommendation

 [*]Students must qualify each year to be eligible for 
         Title I/LAP support


[*]Students with a reading IEP are not eligible for 
         Title I/LAP support

Clark Reading Club

Student goals will be based on need, such as:

  • Early reading skills
  • Phonics
  • Comprehension
  • Thinking skills
  • Fluency

The setting of Reading Club services will be determined by collaborating with each classroom teacher.
