For those of you who read my newsletters digitally, the final newsletter is up and posted on our website for tomorrow! It says on it that a letter is attached to it for you to read. Attached to this blog post you can also find the same letter. Thank you so much for an amazing year!!
It's that time of year already...we're starting to clean out our desks/book boxes and will slowly be bringing things home! Today, we were able to clean out our book boxes, which held a couple things in them that are coming home in folders tonight. Over the week there will be many papers coming home (probably that should have made it to you months ago, but has now magically appeared in desks..…

I hope you and your family had a wonderful weekend. I just wanted to give you a quick update about our events this week. This Friday, March 31st is an IVE school spirit day. Students can choose a person to be their "twin" for the day- dress alike, similar shoes, or similar hairstyle[H][H]. In order to make this a bit easier on you, there is also the option to just do a "class" twin day where we…
I just wanted to share with you a quick picture of some strategies we've been learning to add two digit numbers in math recently. Hopefully you have been finding the topic tip sheets sent home helpful- they often have similar drawings on them as well. I am sharing these three strategies because they are repeated through the Eureka curriculum-we'll be seeing them again as we finish Module 4, in other…
Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for your support and encouragement as we concluded our opinion writing unit. I hope you enjoyed reading those books with your child! We have recently jumped back into informational writing, and need your help! Before opinion writing, we worked on “How-To” books. Now, we still get to “teach” someone about a topic, but we writing “Non-fiction Chapter Books”.…
We have completed our opinion writing unit! In one of the last newsletters I sent out, I mentioned to look for your student's class dojo video as they read their favorite opinion book. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that class dojo limits the length of the videos posted, so that did not work out as planned. Since students were excited to read their books to you, I decided to just send them back after I looked…
I hope you all have a wonderful upcoming mid-winter break and can enjoy spending some extra time with your first grader! I sure will miss them next week, but they've been working so hard and have definitely earned a break :)

Wow- I can't believe we've made it to winter break already! The fun times in our classroom certainly have been flying by for me, and it has been amazing to watch all of your little ones grow so far this year. I hope you and your family have a wonderful break and get to spend lots of time together! Coming home with your student tonight will be a "hot chocolate reading challenge". There are lots of different…
I hope you all are enjoying what's left of the long weekend! I just wanted to remind you that our writing celebration will be tomorrow from 10-10:30am. If you plan on attending, please check in at the front desk to get a guest pass before heading to room 205!
I plan on quickly speaking about the hard work each student put into their writing following by a sparking juice toast at the beginning of our writing celebration…

Thanks again for everyone who was able to either come in and volunteer at our fall harvest party today or help contribute towards it! We had lots of fun playing games, eating a healthy snack, listening to music, and making some artwork!
