    Ms. Nelson met with the 6th Grade Health Classes last Thursday and Friday to discuss Rumors and Gossip. Kids had an opportunity to discuss the differences and challenges with spreading rumors and sharing information with their peers.

  • Stress, Depression, and Teen Suicide

    Mr. Hemker visited the 8th Grade Health classes on Tuesday, September 20th to help wrap up the unit on Stress, Depression, and Teen Suicide. He discussed triggers, warning signs, and coping skills with the students while giving them an opportunity to have questions/concerns addressed anonymously.

  • 6th Grade Tech Day

    Mr. Hemker, Mrs. Eubank, and Mrs. Weik will be in CC 6 math classes today to help ensure that students can log into the computer, Family Access, and how to see teacher websites. 


    The attached document should have been started at school.  It can be completed at home, or if lost, redone!  It is a helpful tool to helping your student stay digitally organized with their classwork.

    We are so sad to have to say goodbye to Mr. Luther.  He is retiring after many years in public education.  He has been an asset to our school and our district and he will be missed.  Have fun in retirement Mr. Luther!

    Summer school is available to any student who wishes to take classes over the summer.  There are two options - Humanities Camp or STEM Camp.  Summer school is recommended for students who have failed two or more trimesters of core classes but is open to anyone.  Please see the attached flyer.

    October 21st - October 25th, Maywood will be recognizing Red Ribbon Week.  During this week, students will be given some valuable information regarding alcohol and tobacco as well as examining their reasons and discussing ways to say no.  Students will receive a red bracelet for signing the pledge to be drug and alcohol free during the week!  Feel free to continue this discussion with your student at home!

    All 7th and 8th graders, and soon all 6th graders should have received their own personal, private code for the new Talk About It reporting system.  This is one more tool for your student to use to report instances of bullying or concerns about themselves or others.  Information went home in Maywood's and the Issaquah School District's E-News.  Ask your student about it!
