Welcome to Sunset Elementary's GRC site

In 2017-2018 we have thirty-six students participating!

Visit the King County Library GRC site to gain access to the books in many formats including digital downloads and recordings.

The KCLS foundation and the Issaquah School District have generously provided our school with multiple copies of each title which can be checked out using the "honor" system from a cart in the fourth grade hallway/flexspace.

The Sunset Library has copies of the GRC books as well.  Use our catalog to search for titles.  Students may place a hold on any or all titles.  Holds are fulfilled based on request date, student overdue status, and book limit (4 books for 4th graders, 5 books for 5th graders) policies of our library.

Have fun and do your best!

Sunset loves to talk about books!

More than fifty students in fourth and fifth grade took the King County Library's Global Reading Challenge last year.  Teams of six will be competing on Jan 24 at 8:15 a.m. in the library to face off and see which five teams can answer the most challenging questions.  The top five teams will compete in the Sunset MPR on Friday, Feb. 10 in the MPR and the top team will lead our school to the district level.

Click here to see the teams, co-captains, and captains for the preliminary challenge on Jan. 19, 2018.
